Last updated: August 2026

Super-Advice Limited ("Super-Advice", "we", "us", or "our") operates the WELF Financial Wellness Programme ("WELF", "the app", "the platform"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand) and the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013.

By using WELF, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

WELF does not connect to your bank accounts, does not collect your banking credentials, and does not access your real-time financial transactions. All financial data within WELF is entered manually by you.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Calculate and display your Financial Wellness Score
  • Personalise your WELF programme experience and learning pace
  • Deliver relevant newsletters, content, and educational resources
  • Track your progress through the financial wellness journey
  • Send optional WELF notifications you have enabled, using privacy-safe lock-screen wording that does not include balances, salary, debt amounts, insurance details, or other private financial figures
  • Operate optional WELF Wins community features when you explicitly choose to share a recognised milestone
  • Provide aggregate programme reporting to an employer or plan sponsor, and share an individual achievement only when you explicitly choose to do so (where applicable — see Section 5)
  • Send you programme-related emails (e.g. your Financial Wellness Score, newsletter digests)
  • Improve the WELF platform and services
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations

We will not use your information for purposes other than those described above without your explicit consent.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal information on the following grounds:

  • Contractual necessity: To provide the WELF service you have signed up for
  • Legitimate interests: To improve our platform and ensure programme quality
  • Consent: For optional communications and features
  • Legal obligation: To comply with applicable New Zealand law

5. Sharing Your Information

5.1 Employer / Plan Sponsors

If you access WELF through an employer-sponsored programme, your employer or plan sponsor may receive aggregate programme reporting about engagement and outcomes. WELF does not use the progress-sharing feature to disclose your balances, salary, debt amounts, insurance details, or other private financial figures. An individual positive achievement is shared with your organisation only when you explicitly choose that audience using a sharing control in WELF.

5.2 WELF Wins Community

WELF Wins is optional. A community post can only be created from a progress milestone WELF has already recognised, and you must explicitly choose to share it. You choose whether the post shows your first name, a display name, or “WELF member”. Other users see only that public name choice, the safe achievement text, the date, and the number of celebrations. They do not see your email address, organisation, balances, salary, debt amounts, insurance details, or other underlying financial information. WELF Wins does not provide public comments or unrestricted financial posts. You can delete your own WELF Wins posts and can privately report a post for administrator review.

5.3 Salesforce CRM

We use Salesforce as our internal customer relationship management (CRM) platform. Your profile data and programme progress may be stored in Salesforce to help our Advisors and team provide personalised support.

5.4 Service Providers

We work with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform. These include cloud hosting and email delivery services. All providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may not use your data for their own purposes.

5.5 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or government agency).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on servers located in compliant cloud infrastructure. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Despite our best efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your login credentials confidential.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the WELF service. If you delete your account, your data will be removed from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it for a longer period.

8. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Object to how we process your information in certain circumstances
  • Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe we have breached the Privacy Act

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@super-advice.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days as required by law.

9. Cookies

WELF uses session cookies and local storage to maintain your login session and app preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

10. Children's Privacy

WELF is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
